Sophie's Destiny

Sophie had always been a skeptic. She didn't believe in fate or destiny or any of that mumbo jumbo. She was a practical person, and she believed that people made their own luck through hard work and determination.

But that all changed the day she met Ethan.

It was a typical Friday night, and Sophie was out with her friends at a local bar. She was sipping on a drink and chatting with a group of people when she felt a tap on her shoulder.

She turned to see a tall, handsome stranger standing behind her. He had piercing green eyes and a friendly smile, and Sophie felt her heart skip a beat.

"Hi, I'm Ethan," he said, extending his hand. "I saw you from across the room and just had to come over and introduce myself."

Sophie's friends giggled and nudged her, but she was too stunned to say anything. She had never been approached by a stranger like this before, and she wasn't sure how to react.

"Uh, hi," she managed to stammer out. "I'm Sophie."

"Nice to meet you, Sophie," Ethan said, still smiling. "Would you like to dance?"

Before Sophie could even think about it, she found herself saying yes and following Ethan onto the dance floor. As they moved to the music, she felt a sense of excitement and connection that she had never experienced before.

Over the next few weeks, Sophie and Ethan saw each other every chance they got. They went on long walks and picnics, talked about everything under the sun, and laughed until their stomachs hurt. Sophie couldn't believe how happy she was, and she knew that Ethan felt the same way.

But as the weeks turned into months, Sophie started to notice some strange coincidences. Whenever she needed something, Ethan seemed to have it. If she mentioned wanting to try a new restaurant, he would show up with a reservation. If she talked about a book she had always wanted to read, he would surprise her with a copy.

At first, Sophie thought it was just a coincidence. But as the coincidences piled up, she couldn't help but wonder if there was something more at play. She started to think about the things Ethan had said to her, about how he felt like they were meant to be together. She had brushed it off at the time, but now she wasn't so sure.

One night, as they were sitting on the couch watching a movie, Sophie turned to Ethan and said, "I need to talk to you about something."

Ethan looked at her with concern. "What is it, Sophie?" he asked.

"I know this might sound crazy, but I can't shake the feeling that there's something more going on between us," she said, taking a deep breath. "You know how you always seem to have what I need, or know what I'm thinking before I even say it? I can't help but wonder if that's more than just luck."

Ethan smiled and took her hand. "Sophie, I've been waiting for you to ask me about that," he said. "The truth is, I believe in destiny. And I believe that you and I were meant to be together. That's why I've always been able to anticipate your needs and wants - because I know you better than anyone else."

Sophie was speechless. She had never believed in destiny before, but now she couldn't deny the feelings in her heart. She knew that Ethan was the one she had been waiting for all along.
